1. The assignment
Every engagement should identify the consultant, project lead, tasks, expected hours, start and end points, review cadence and what to do if school or other commitments change. Échelle should confirm the consultant’s working status and applicable local requirements before the agreement is signed.
2. Pay & expenses
Write down the rate or calculation, currency, payment trigger and date, who pays, invoice or documentation requirements, and which expenses need advance approval. Distinguish paid client assignments from optional training and trial tasks; do not leave compensation to an informal conversation.
3. Client information & tools
Use client information only for the assigned work. Keep access credentials private, work in approved accounts, and report accidental exposure promptly to the project lead. Do not upload confidential material into personal storage or AI tools without explicit approval. Return or delete project material and access when the assignment closes.
4. Work product & portfolio
The signed agreement should make clear who owns deliverables and when rights transfer. A consultant should not publish a client name, screenshot, data set or portfolio case study without both Échelle and client approval. Separately obtain permission before Échelle publishes a consultant’s name, image or biography.
5. Under-18 approval & concerns
For an under-18 consultant, use a specific guardian agreement alongside the student’s own acknowledgement. It should cover the particular work, hours, contact and pay—not blanket consent for all future projects. Provide a named person for safety and pay concerns; until one is assigned, use team@echelleventures.com.
