1. Who this applies to
Échelle invites students aged 14 and above to apply. This draft describes safeguards for anyone under 18 in the application, training or client-project journey. Eligibility to apply is not, by itself, approval to take on any particular work. Local labour, education and child-protection requirements must be checked for each location and assignment.
2. Parent or guardian involvement
Before an under-18 consultant starts client work, Échelle should obtain a documented guardian agreement covering the project, expected hours, compensation, supervision, client contact and any publication of the student’s work or image. The student should also understand and agree to the assignment in age-appropriate language.
The application’s collection of a minor’s information is a separate privacy step: place a notice and the appropriate consent mechanism before collection, not only before the first project. Families can raise a concern at team@echelleventures.com while a dedicated safeguarding contact is assigned.
3. Safe work boundaries
- Scope work around school, exams, rest and the student’s stated availability; avoid hazardous or age-inappropriate tasks.
- Keep an Échelle project lead responsible for delivery and escalation. Do not leave a minor to resolve a client dispute alone.
- Use agreed professional channels for calls and messages; document any direct client contact and make a guardian aware of the arrangement.
- Do not require personal social accounts, private devices or an unsupervised in-person meeting as a condition of work.
4. Concerns, privacy & publication
Students and guardians should be able to report inappropriate conduct, pressure over hours, non-payment or privacy concerns without retaliation. A named safeguarding lead should document, triage and escalate reports appropriately. Immediate danger should be directed to relevant local emergency services.
Before publishing a student’s name, photograph, profile, testimonial or portfolio sample, obtain specific permission from the student and, where required, their guardian and the client. Offer a practical removal route. Requests about personal data go to team@echelleventures.com.
